Kivunim's Legacy Program

Transforming Lives Since 2003:

Kivunim has been at the forefront of transforming the lives of people with disabilities in Israel. Founded in 2003, Kivunim recognized the urgent need for young individuals with disabilities to gain the skills and confidence required for independent living. This vision gave birth to the “Wings” Preparatory Program, which began with 10 brave young adults with physical disabilities. Developed in partnership with JDC Israel, the Ministry of Welfare, National Insurance funds, and other contributors, the program was later adopted by the Ministry of Welfare and expanded nationwide.

The Evolution of “Wings”:

Today, the “Wings” program has evolved into the “Life Preparatory Program,” which now supports around 120 young people each year, including those with physical and sensory disabilities, rare syndromes, head injuries, and high-functioning autism. To date, over 270 graduates have moved on to lead independent lives, marking a significant milestone in their journey.

Expanding Horizons:

Continuing its mission, Kivunim is dedicated to crafting innovative programs that enhance the quality of life for young people with disabilities, empower them to manage their lives independently, and foster their inclusion in society. These initiatives offer support in independent living, vocational and occupational training, integration into the IDF and Sherut Leumi, youth clubs, and more. Each year, Kivunim touches the lives of over 500 individuals with disabilities, with this number continually growing.
