The Shop for Meaning is a center for professional apprenticeship in the fields of sales and trade for young adults with special needs, sensory and/or motor, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or religious affiliation. Working in the shop and meeting with you, the visitors to our shop, provides hands-on experience for our workers, in a variety of fields. Towards the end of their apprenticeship, the participants receive assistance in finding employment in the wider job market.
The Shop for Meaning is situated in the heart of the Old City of Acco, a city which reflects our belief in coexistence, and where our workers can contrinute to the local community through mutual respect and acceptance.
In The Shop for Meaning we have created a unique shopping experience. Discover a wealth of beautiful gifts, souvenirs and artifacts all of which carry a social or environmental message.
We stock products whose design, marketing and sales are based upon Fair Trade and environment-friendly standards, as well as, exclusive products made by people with special needs. We also have a collection of recycled items which highlight and raise awareness of caring for our environment.
For groups, tourists, work outings and anyone wishing to celebrate an occasion, the Shop offers artistic workshops. These workshops are lead by our staff and present a unique opportunity to meet and create with them.
